Import Europass CV to your Resume at the Comoto Resume Manager

With our new integration to Europass it is possible to import your exisiting Resume data from the Europass standard into Comoto using the Europass XML file.

Two ways of import Europass Resume:

  1. Using the Comoto Resume Import Wizard
  2. Using the Resume list icon for importing

Both types of imports are going to use your existing Europass XML file, so you need to have that within reach, preferably existing on your Computer/USB stick, because you wil have to upload the Europass XML file to the Comoto CV Import Engine.

Using the Comoto Resume import Wizard

Please login to your Comoto account here, go to the menu My Resume and choose “Resume creation Wizard”.

Then you need to activate our Resume Import Wizard, where you can for time being import your existing data from LinkedIn and Europass.

Our new and improved Resume Import Wizard now contains the ability to import from LinkedIn and from Europass.

You should choose “Import from Europass XML File”, enter the name of your new Resume in the Europass CV format, choose the language you want for this Resume and press “Next”.

A dialogue will pop-up asking you to upload your “Europass XML file”, select the Europass CV file you want to import and press “Next”.

Your existing data from the Resume in the Europass CV format which just have been uploaded will be converted into the Comoto Resume standard and this would finalize the job of importing the Resume in the Europass CV format. This can be done within a minute, so you are saving a lot of time by doing it in this way.

The created Resume will be a new Resume on your Resume list and will not change existing Resume’s within Comoto. The Resume creation wizard can only be used to create a new Resume not to update an existing Resume, if you want to update or overwrite an existing Resume in the Europass CV format you should use the Resume List import feature as described below.

Using the CV List for importing

If you want to import into an existing Resume or update an existing Resume you should login to Comoto as described above, and then choose “My Resume” to see you existing list of Resume.

You should then find the little “Yellow Europass Star Icon” (see arrow above). By pressing this icon you choose to import a new Europass CV into this CV/Resume, by doing this you should be aware that you will overwrite/delete your existing CV/Resume with the new data. After pressing this icon you will get the same pop-up image as in the Resume Import Wizard and you should upload your Europass CV/Resume.

HOW TO USE: Export Resume in the Europass CV format with Comoto Resume Manager

Export Resume in the Europass CV format in Comoto Resume Manager

With the ability to export resume into the Europass Resume standard you are able to export any Resume you have in Comoto to the Europass format as easy as point and click.

First you need to login here:

After your login you go to your CV List by pressing the “CV List” Menu, by doing that you go to the list of the Resumes you have in Comoto. Below you can see an example of the Resume List.

By clicking the Export Icon, (see above) you will be shown the CV Export picture where you can choose which Resume Template you want to use. Whether you want to export it into Word Template or convert to a PDF Template. But as a new feature, at the bottom you will see”Export CV’s to an Europass XML File”.

To start the actual Europass Resume export, you just press the designated button “1” and it will even light up when you hover over it. So you cant miss it. 🙂

After the Europass export

export resumeAfter you have done the Europass CV Export you will see that there is a new line in the middle, here you will have your Europass Resumes and you can either delete them by pressing the waste bin next to it or you can download the XML file for you to keep or to send it via an email.

Europass CV/Resume editing

We have made it possible for you to import the Resume in the Europass CV format you have just exported directly into the official Europass editor, you can do this by pressing “Edit with Europass”, we will automatically upload your newly created Europass Resume to the official Europass editor.

How to Use: Export EURES Resume in the Europass format for import in Comoto

It is fairly easy to export EURES Resume into the Europass format, and then import this into Comoto and thus create/build your Resume in less than a minute.

Please go to the EURES Login Webpage here. Enter your username and password to proceed to MY EURES. After the login you will see a menu on the left-hand side like the picture to the left.
Please press the + sign at “My CV” and you will open another menu with some new items in it. In this menu under “Manage my CV”  please select “Download as Europass CV”. After you have done this a new page comes up looking like the one below.

Here you simply choose the language you want to export – if have more than one – and please choose the Resume Format as CV Europass XML. By pressing  “Download” you should be able to save it on your computer, this file you will later use to upload to Comoto to create your new Comoto account.  For importing this Resume in the Europass CV format into Comoto please see the How To here.

Europass is a new way of helping people to:

Europass consists of five documents:

Comoto is proud to you inform that we are now launching a full integration to the very popular Resume format – the European CV format Europass – making it easy for you to create a Europass CV or to import your Europass CV to be able to use all the smart Comoto Resume management features within seconds.

Europass integration Europass was developed by the European Union to have one standard Resume format with all the necessary information for it to be used in all EU member states. As this EU Resume standard ensures the same visual look and feel and the same content structure the use of the Europass CV format is increasing every day.

The website for Europass created 3.8 million resumes last year, but please notice that on the Europass site you only create your Resume in Europass CV format, but not save the Resume data you have entered. If you want to change your Resume data you have to upload your Resume in the Europass CV format again and make the changes and then download it again to your file for further use.
