Cover letter feature for your convenience

Notice: Please notice Comoto launch a new and more advanced Template section of the Comoto application early 2013.

The Template chooser makes it is easier for you find the right template and can open an integrated cover-letter editor in all 18 templates.

Just use the Template Chooser as normally but now you can filter them by pressing the “letter” icon and then you see only the templates which have a build-in Cover letter.

 

When you press export, a screen will pop up, where you enter the data for you cover-letter/application and press export and voila you will have a CV in your favourite template and a Cover-letter as well.

CEFR compared to North American language proficiency standards

Comoto uses the European CEFR standard in language proficiency. Having more and more users from North America we are looking at the possibility to have more than CEFR as the language proficiency scale in our CV application. Until we have finished that project we have found the table below to clarify for the users the major differences in the different proficiency standards out there.

The following table establishes equivalences between the CEFR and some North American standards.

The standards compared are:

  1. The CEFR itself
  2. Interagency Language Roundtable Scale (ILR, United States)
  3. American Council for the Teaching of Foreign Languages Proficiency Guidelines (ACTFL)
  4. New Brunswick Oral Proficiency Scale (NB OPS, English and French only)
  5. Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB, English and French only)
  6. Public Service Commission of Canada Second Official Language Proficiency Levels (PSC, English and French only)

New statistical Comoto features implemented

comoto featuresWe have found a perfect use for the Sidebar in Comoto, we have revised the design slightly and are presenting some statistical information for you as a user of Comoto.

Under My Statistics you can always see the last time you made an update, you can see the number of CV’s you have divided into Top Levels CV’s and Child CV’s which inherited data from a top-level CV.

Your Privacy Settings can be monitored with ease, you can now follow how many CV’s you have online either being private, public and if they are visible for Comoto.

Another new info is the ability to see how many “hits” you web-profiles have had. This is the first go, where you can follow the overall hits, but in the future you will be able to monitor them for each Web-Profile you have.

General Comoto Cleanup and simplified menu structure

Comoto Cleanup A general Comoto cleanup – including small adjustment to the userinterface – and a simplified menu structure has been implemented. Previously we have had some BETA functionality which was made public for all users. Not all of these features were finalized and thus giving an impression of a non finished system. This has been changed and only features that are 100% ready for you are visible now. This has given us the opportunity to simplify the menu structure down to 3 items.

New version of Comoto with added Comoto features and better look and feel

New version of Comoto launched this weekend with added Comoto features and a new design.

Comoto featuresA general cleanup has been carried out in Comoto this weekend, the look and feel has been improved, new Statistics have been implemented and Comoto has been made more lean and easier to use.

 

Overall there are 3 major changes to Comoto.

  • General Cleanup and simpler menu structure (see more here)
    Menu structure has been simplified, Non active links has been removed, graphics has been changed, Beta functionality has been removed temporarily.
  • New statistics features implemented (see more here)
    New statistics has been implemented in the sidebar, including overview over all CV’s, Exported CV, Privacy settings and statistics on profile hits.
  • Account settings and Password renewal improved (see more here)
    Account settings now available in the sidebar, change of password for added security made available and nice and easy. Toolbox for typical functions implemented.

Comoto launches Europass integration (CV import/export)

Comoto is proud to you inform that we are now launching a full Europass integration to the very popular European CV format Europass – making it easy for you to create a Europass CV or to import your Europass CV to be able to use all the smart Comoto CV management features within seconds.

Europass integrationEuropass was developed by the European Union to have one standard CV format with all the necessary information for it to be used in all EU member states. As this EU CV standard ensures the same visual look and feel and the same content structure the use of the Europass CV is increasing every day.

The website for Europass created 3.8 million CV’s last year, but please notice that on the Europass site you only create your Europass CV, but not save the CV data you have entered. If you want to change your CV data you have to upload your Europass CV again and make the changes and then download it again to your file for further use.

Comoto not only ensures a smooth and easy update but also an easy access to the many Comoto free CV features and many free CV templates making it possible to use your Europass CV data for your next application or job interview.
