The Comoto CV Commenting system for CV Verifications
Principle behind and background for Verify CV feature:

As part of both Comoto’s fight against fraudulent information, omitted important information and dedicated lies in CVs and for your CV to stand out and also reduce your risk of having a CV being read with “skeptical eyes” we have added a Verify feature. Hereby you can emphasise which parts of your CVs that have been verified and by whom.

How to use CV Verify:

First log in to the Comoto CV Manager application here

To be able to use the Comoto CV Commenting you need to have created a least one CV. You will then have to go to your web profiles like shown below.

(The name on the CV / Web profiles) shown in bottom of the picture above is not the same on yours as it will show the names you chosen for the CV).

Notice the little red square at the right bottom corner of the picture – here you can decide if the Web profile is public or private (to have the Web profile password protected or not use the icon – red = protected – green public)) – want to learn more read here.

Next step is to press the Web profile to open it – you do that by clicking the web profile and wait for it to open. Then evaluate the web profile – is it ready for comments?

Look at the right for the Comoto CV Commenting System. See example below (when logged in as a Comoto user)

Giving a CV Verification

Now I change to be acting as if I was another person asked for Verifying Michaels CV (actually a web profile labelled “CV Comoto Examples/A Comoto example – Lorem Ipsum”).

Michael invited me by mail / sms / skype or similar and sent me the Web profile link – here  (fell free to try and add a verification).

I then have (as the verifier) to log in – there is several different options

verify cvPress Log in if you are a registered user else you can use several alternatives among others Facebook and Twitter (remember the purpose is only to identify you and to inform you about the comment should it be used by another person in your name)

I then logged in (as I have a log in I used the log in)

 

 

I have made the following Verification (see picture below)

Notice CCS_Icon_types  – the darker third icon illustrates there is Verify comments as well.

Yahoo CEO caught in CV fraud

There’s some trouble at Yahoo, where the board is now investigating errors in the new CEO Scott Thompson’s educational merits.

The error has been discovered by a disgruntled shareholder Daniel Loeb who has been pushing for changes within the company’s board for some time.

Daniel Loeb’s company Third Point owns a 5.8 percentage stake in Yahoo. He published a letter staging Thompson to be lying in a recent filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) about having a degree in computer science. Yahoo stated that Thompson had a Bachelor’s degree in accounting and computer science from Stonehill College. But it turns out he only has an accounting degree. Only by using a standard Google search it can be revealed that Mr. Thompson’s degree is in accounting only. In fact, Stonehill College first offered a computer science degree four years after the Thompson graduated. In fact this erroneous information was also previously found on Yahoo’s website, as well as Thompson’s bio for past jobs.

Yahoo didn’t respond for a comment immediately, but in a later statement, Yahoo confirmed that Thompson’s credentials were overstated, and called the misrepresentation an “inadvertent error.” Yahoo states it make no difference for Mr. Thompson being a highly qualified executive with a successful track record.

The discrepancy in the information in his CV would not have been possible if Comoto CV engine would have been used. With Comoto it would be possible to use the verification of your CV and thus never run into an error like this. It seems a bit weird that such a standard error has not been detected in the recruitment process of Scott Thompson.

Well if you are actively using Comoto to Create, Manage, Optimize and Share your CV with this would never have happened. In Comoto we have a build in feature that would unverify a verification if someone were to change an already verified part of a CV.
